Meet Frank DeRosa, Life Safety Specialist, President at Maintain Your Independence
After a 25-year career in the healthcare manufacturing field, new product development and marketing, Frank has turned his “retirement” into a mission to help seniors at a reasonable price with quality medical alert products and truly outstanding 24/7 customer service. After selling his payroll and timekeeping firm, Frank started his second business – Maintain Your Independence, LLC (MYI) – a medical alarm business to meet his mission.
His passion for helping others has led him to become an expert in Fall Prevention. A believer in community service, Frank is a Board member of the Nazareth-Bath Area Chamber of Commerce where he also served as Chairperson and earned the Volunteer of the Year award. He is currently a Board member of the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition, an organization that works to educate seniors, their caregivers and family about the services available to help them age safely in their homes.
Frank has helped hundreds of older adults and chronically ill individuals throughout eastern PA and New Jersey through the services MYI provides. He now provides products and services to seniors nationwide. His parent company is the second largest medical alarm company in the country today – and one of the most innovative.
The Maintain Your Independence Story.
In 2007, my mother-in-law kept falling while home alone. With her COPD and weakened medical condition, she could not get up on her own and had a very difficult time recovering from her falls. A very independent senior who lived in Florida, Mom refused to move. Since my wife and I are located in the Lehigh Valley, PA, we decided medical alert equipment was what we needed to help Mom and give us the peace of mind that she’d be safe. At the time, I was aware of only one company offering a service like this. It was a three-year contract and cost $50.00 per month. I paid it gladly.
Just after signing the contract, I began hearing complaints about the company. Scary things – like not being able to get out of the contract even if the client passed away. This concerned me and I began to do some investigating into the medical alert equipment industry. I looked at other companies that offered alert products. My goal was to keep other families from experiencing problems while trying to keep their senior safe.
I found a local company in Pennsylvania that looked good so I went to meet the owner. What did I discover? A company providing reliable, quality medical alarms with the ability to service seniors for less money (less than $1.00 per day) and no long term commitments! I knew this was the company that would benefit seniors the most, so I started Maintain Your Independence. Today, I sell and install medical alert units using this company’s products in the Lehigh Valley, Slate Belt area, Poconos and western New Jersey.
My dad has since passed away and my own Mom lives alone now. She wears her medical alarm pendant all the time.
I feel better and so does she.
When you work with me, you’ll receive 24/7 customer service, an excellent and reasonably-priced product as well as lots of perks. Bonuses like free shipping, extra pendants, and my cell number should you ever have any questions. Rest assured that I will always answer any questions you have – and I won’t sell you a service unless I think it meets your needs.
